AGENDA INFORMATION
TIFFIN CITY COUNCIL COMMUNICATION
DATE: March 13, 2026
AGENDA ITEM: Discussion and Consideration of Purchase and Installation of an AV System
for the City Council Chambers and Council Action as Needed
ACTION: Motion
Background
The purpose of this item is to request approval for the proposed audio and video upgrades to the
Tiffin Council Chambers, as outlined in the proposal submitted by Elite Home Audio LLC &
Safety Systems by EHA.
The upgrades will significantly improve audio clarity, video distribution, meeting efficiency, and
public accessibility for council meetings, planning sessions, and community use.
The Council Chambers currently utilize aging AV equipment, including an outdated amplifier,
limited audio distribution, and a single-display setup that does not meet the needs of hybrid
meetings, presentations, or public transparency.
Elite Home Audio evaluated the room and designed a system capable of supporting up to seven
displays (with three used immediately) while integrating the City’s existing laptop, Owl camera,
and wireless HDMI dongle.
The proposal also replaces the defective audio amplifier and consolidates scattered AV/network
equipment into a secure wall-mounted rack in the utility room.
Staff Recommendation
Staff recommends that the City Council approve the AV upgrade proposal from Elite Home
Audio LLC & Safety Systems by EHA in the amount of $3,950.30, and authorize staff to
proceed with scheduling installation.
