CITY OF TIFFIN IOWA ORDINANCE NO. 2019-446 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE TIFFIN ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 2007-287 SECTION 1.05(B), DEFINITIONS, AND SECTION 6, SIGN REGULATIONS, TO DISALLOW ADVERTISING SIGNS BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIFFIN, IOWA: Section 1. Purpose. The purpose of this ordinance is to amend Zoning Ordinance No. 2007-287, Section 6, Sign Regulations, to disallow advertising signs. Section 2. Amendment. Portions of Sections 6.01, 6.02, 6.03, 6.05, 6.07 and Table 1, Number and Area Regulations for Signs in Commercial and Industrial Zones are hereby amended as follows: See attachment. Section 3. Amendment. The definition of “structure” in Section 1.05(B) is hereby amended as follows: Structure: Anything constructed or erected that requires a permanent location on the ground, including by way of example the following: billboards, backstops for tennis courts, gazebos, ground-based satellite dishes, and solar collectors. Section 4. Repealer. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 5. Severability. If any section, provision, or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole, or any section, provision, or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional. Section 6. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in effect after its final passage, approval, and posting as provided by law. On the 22nd day of January 2019, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa, Councilperson Schnedler introduced Ordinance No. 2019-446, and moved that it be given its second reading. The motion was seconded by Councilperson Bartels. Ayes: Upton, Ryan, Havens, Bartels, Schnedler Nays: None On the 5th day of February 2019, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa, Councilperson Havens introduced Ordinance No. 2019-446, and moved that it be given its first reading.
