CITY OF TIFFIN ORDINANCE NO. 2017-421 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2006-274, BY ADDING LANGUAGE TO REQUIRE THE INSTALLATION OF ONE CUSTOM 7 CONDUCTOR VDC AND BATTERY ALARM CABLE FROM THE SERVICE PROVIDER’S POINT OF CONNECTION TO THE DEMARCATION POINT WITHIN THE BUILDING FOR SINGLE FAMILY AND MULTI-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURES BE IT ENACTED by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa: Section I. Purpose: The purpose of this ordinance is to amend Ordinance no 2006-274 to add language to the Residential Telecommunications Infrastructure Standard TIA-570-B. Section II. Amendment. Ordinance 2006-274 is hereby amended as follows: C. Installation of one Custom 7 Conductor VDC and Battery Alarm Cable from the service provider’s point of connection to the demarcation point within the building, Section III. Repealer. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed. Section IV. Severability Clause. If any section, provision or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any section, provision or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional. Section V. When Effective. This ordinance shall be in effect after its final passage, approval, and posting as provided by law. On the 19th day of December 2017, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa, Councilperson Havens introduced Ordinance No. 2017-421, and moved that it be given its first reading. The motion was seconded by Councilperson Kahler. Ayes: Upton, Bartels, Havens, Ryan, Kahler. Nays: None.
