CITY OF TIFFIN IOWA ORDINANCE NO. 2014-364 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 2007-287 AND ANY AMENDMENTS THERETO ADDING A SELF-SERVICE STORAGE USE IN A C-2B ZONING DISTRICT. BE IT ENACTED by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa: Section 1. Purpose. The purpose of this ordinance is to amend Zoning Ordinance No. 2007-287, Section 3, Commercial Districts, Table C, to allow the permitted use of self-service storage. Section 2. Amendment. Section 3, Commercial Districts; the following is added to TABLE C, SERVICE USES: Self-Service Storage, permitted use, C-2B. Characteristics: Uses that provide separate indoor storage areas for individual or business uses. The indoor storage areas are designed to allow private access by the tenant for storing and removing personal property. The use may include security and leasing offices. Examples: Miniwarehouses; ministorage facilities. Section 3. Repealer. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 4. Severability. If any section, provision, or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole, or any section, provision, or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional. Section 5. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in effect after its final passage, approval, and posting as provided by law. On the 22nd day of October 2014, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa, Councilperson Ryan introduced Ordinance No. 2014-364, and moved that it be given its first reading.
