CITY OF TIFFIN ORDINANCE NO. 2014-360 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF TIFFIN, IOWA, CHAPTER 63, SPEED REGULATIONS, TO INCLUDE A SPECIAL SPEED ZONE FOR PARK ROAD AND MAKE TECHNICAL CORRECTIONS BE IT ENACTED by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa: Section I. Purpose: The purpose of this ordinance is to amend Section 63.04, Code of Ordinances, to include a special speed zone for Park Road, and also to make technical corrections to Section 63.04. Section II. Amendment: Section 63.04 of Chapter 63 is hereby amended as follows: CHAPTER 63 SPEED REGULATIONS 63.04 SPECIAL SPEED ZONES. In accordance with requirements of the Iowa Department of Transportation, or whenever the Council shall determine upon the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation that any speed limit listed in Section 63.02 is greater or less than is reasonable or safe under the conditions found to exist at any intersection or other place or upon any part of the City street system, the Council shall determine and adopt by ordinance such higher or lower speed limit as it deems reasonable and safe at such location. The following special speed zones have been established: (Code of Iowa, Sec. 321.290) 1. Special 10 MPH Speed Zones. A speed in excess of 10 miles per hour is unlawful on all alleys within the City. 2. Special 25 MPH Speed Zones. A speed in excess of 25 miles per hour is unlawful on any of the following designated streets or parts thereof. A. On Highway 6 (Marengo Road) from 500 feet west of Roberts Ferry Road to 300 feet east of Main Street. B-A. On Roberts Ferry Road, from the intersection of Goldfinch Drive northerly to the intersection of Oakdale Boulevard and continuing on to the northern corporate boundary of the City of Tiffin.
