CITY OF TIFFIN ORDINANCE NO. 2014-352 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF TIFFIN, IOWA, CHAPTER 99, TO INCLUDE AN EXCEPTION TO SEWER USAGE CHARGES. BE IT ENACTED by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa: Section I. Purpose: The purpose of this ordinance is to amend Section 99.06 of Chapter 99 of the Municipal Code of Tiffin, Iowa, by including an additional exception to sewer usage charges. Section II. Amendment. Section 99.06 of Chapter 99 is hereby amended as follows: CHAPTER 99 SEWER USER CHARGE SYSTEM 99.06. CHARGES BASED ON USAGE. Each user shall pay for the services provided by the City based on said user's use of the treatment works as determined by water meters acceptable to the City. 3. Exception. If a homeowner is using a single-purpose meter as set forth in Section 91.10 of Chapter 91, and timely complies with the requirements of Section 91.10 of Chapter 91, that homeowner shall be exempt from sewer charges associated with that single-purpose meter. The water used shall be charged in accordance with Chapter 92. Section III. Repealer. All ordinances or parts of ordinance in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed. Section IV. Severability Clause. If any section, provision or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any section, provision or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional. Section V. When Effective. This ordinance shall be in effect after its final passage, approval, and posting as provided by law.
