TOWN OF TIFFIN TIFFIN, IOWA 52340 The regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council was held Dec. 4, 1974, 7:30 p.m. Mayor Brotherton presiding. Members present: Beverly Birtcher, Roger Janssen, Glenn Potter, Judy Smith. Absent: Bill Bream. Glenn Potter made a motion to approve the minutes of the special meeting of November 24, 1974. Roger Janssen seconded motion. Motion carried by roll call vote. Beverly Birtcher made a motion to approve the minutes of the Nov. 6, 1974 meeting. Roger Janssen seconded. Motion carried. Beverly Birtcher requested Mayor Brotherton to designate Hawk-eye Engineering as the official consultant on engineering for Tiffin. Ralph Brown, Public Works Director reported the Effluent Pond project is completed. As a solution to the problem of controlling traffic on Third St. west of College it was decided to portion off part of the street as a pedestrian walk way. It was also decided to install a stop sign on College for North bound traffic and a dead end sign on College and Railroad facing North bound traffic. Mayor Brotherton is going to contact Roto Rooter to see about clearing a tile that has caused a water problem on the South end of Town. Glenn Potter made a motion to approve a building permit for Mrs. M. E. Mann to build a house on Grant St., with a residential restriction. Beverly Birtcher seconded motion. Carried by roll call vote. Roger Janssen made a motion to renew the lease for the City Hall subject to the same terms as previous lease. Beverly Birtcher seconded motion. Motion carried. Beverly Birtcher made the motion to accept the following receipts and pay the following bills. Judy Smith seconded.
