Minutes of Regular Council Meeting, January 2, 1963 Present: Bill Verry, Ted Spivey, Glenn Potter, Bob Syatos Absent: Wayne Stratton Meeting was called to order by Mayor O'Toole. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Old Business: Glenn and DeWalne reported on the new tractor purchased at Homestead. Bob moved, Glenn seconded the motion that a cab be purchased from Homestead if it can be glanced, and that a blinking amber light be placed on top of the cab roof. Carried. Bob moved, Bill seconded the motion that a fire extinguisher be purchased to mount on the tractor. Carried. Railroad crossing. Mayor had received letter from Mr. Tucker. There are rigid specifications in the codes about height of crossing, etc. Mayor later received phone call from railroad superintendent of maintenance for this district. He said he was going to try to get it done. Mayor made it plain that we wanted to get the thing done. Councilmen said that the spur has been raised. Approval was given by the councilmen for cutting a hole in the shed roof if necessary to install heater. Map. Engineer's office denied farm-to-market road. We will probably appeal this decision if cement plant remains here.
