The council discussed long range plans for the coming term. Mayor O'Toole suggested appointing a deputy clerk to be responsible for sending out the sewer bills and future water bills. He also suggested a board of trustees to be responsible for utilities. It would be a board of three appointed to two, four, and six year terms. He asked the council to think about it and put it on the agenda for February. Glenn Potter suggested having a bulletin board on which to post minutes and progress reports on water or anything of general interest to the townspeople. Mayor O'Toole said we should take a good look at out building codes. The town will be growing and the codes we have now are the bare minimum. Improving recreation facilities was suggested. Mayor O'Toole asked Bill to look into the particulars of a group in Iowa City that is set up to be a supplementary police force.
