Prairie Village Planned Development Overlay District
GENERAL PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This property is currently zoned R-1A (Single-Family Residential District), R-2 (Medium
Density Two-Family Residential District) and R-4 (Residential District Multi-Family). The
proposed development will include a mix of single family residential and multifamily
units of no more than 6 units per building.
The Prairie Village Planned Development Overlay District is being requested, within the
underlying R-1A, R-2 and R-4 zoning districts to provide 328 single family lots, 116
attached units, public and private streets, open space, on site amenities.
COMPLIANCE WITH THE PURPOSE OF THE OPD DISTRICT
This proposed development complies with the purpose of the Planned Area
Development Overlay District by incorporating a mixture of residential products at a
more attainable price point that the current zoning ordinance will not allow. The
deviations from development standards being proposed will allow for reduced lot
prices and more cost affordable residential units to be constructed.
