RESOLUTION NO. 2021-083 A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A GOAL OF MEETING OR EXCEEDING NFPA 1720: STANDARD FOR ORGANIZATION AND DEPLOYMENT OF FIRE SUPPRESSION OPERATIONS, EMERGENCY MEDICAL OPERATIONS, AND SPECIAL OPERATIONS TO THE PUBLIC BY VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENTS, 2020 EDITION WHEREAS, the City of Tiffin (hereinafter “City”) is a municipal corporation under Iowa law; and, WHEREAS, Iowa Code section 364.16 requires the City to provide for fire protection services; and, WHEREAS, the City provides fire, rescue, and non-transport emergency medical services; and, WHEREAS, fire, rescue, and emergency medical services are essential services within the corporate limits of the City of Tiffin; and, WHEREAS, the City wishes to meet or exceed standards in providing fire, rescue, and emergency medical services, and to maintain compliance on an ongoing basis. Now, therefore be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa, to establish a goal of meeting or exceeding NFPA 1720: Standard for Organization and Deployment of Fire Suppression Operations, Emergency Medical Operations, and Special Operations to the Public by Volunteer Fire Departments, 2020 edition. On the 21st day of December, 2021, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa, Councilperson _____ introduced RESOLUTION NO. 2021-083, A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A GOAL OF MEETING OR EXCEEDING NFPA 1720: STANDARD FOR ORGANIZATION AND DEPLOYMENT OF FIRE SUPPRESSION OPERATIONS, EMERGENCY MEDICAL OPERATIONS, AND SPECIAL OPERATIONS TO THE PUBLIC BY VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENTS, 2020 EDITION and made a motion for approval. Motion seconded by Councilperson _____. Ayes: Nays: Absent: Whereupon _____ Council members were present and voted approval and Mayor Berner declared that RESOLUTION NO. 2021-083, A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A GOAL OF MEETING OR EXCEEDING NFPA 1720: STANDARD FOR ORGANIZATION AND DEPLOYMENT OF FIRE SUPPRESSION OPERATIONS, EMERGENCY MEDICAL OPERATIONS, AND SPECIAL OPERATIONS TO THE PUBLIC BY VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENTS, 2020 EDITION to be adopted and signified his approval of the same by affixing his signature thereto. Passed by the City Council on the 21st day of December, 2021.
