PROJECT UPDATE  A Review of MSA Projects in Your Community City of Tiffin, IA CLIENT LIAISON: Andrew Inhelder, PE Office: 319.364.4773 Cell(s): 515.802.0906 [email protected] DATE: January 31, 2024 ON-GOING PROJECTS North Park Road Improvements – James Watters City received notice that it did not receive requested grant through the Iowa Clean Air Attainment Program. MSA is awaiting notice of funding through State Wide Transportation Alternative Program (TAP). Anticipate notice in spring 2024. MSA resubmitted Concept Statement to Iowa DOT Local Systems Bureau on 1/8/24. The concept statement was cleared by Local Systems Bureau on 1/9/24. MSA is awaiting environmental clearance from IaDOT NEPA section based on updated information provided in concept statement. MSA and City intend to meet the last week in January to go over the following items. • Construction staging and traffic control • Right-of-way • Water main construction • Environmental process • Development adjacent to North Park Rd Highway 6 Concept and Cost Estimate – James Watters MSA survey crew has been on site to set control for project and collect initial data. Snow and cold temperatures have delayed initial survey efforts. Survey staff intends to collect data of roadway and other features that have been cleared of snow. Remaining data will need to be collected when weather permits, and snow is melted. Contract for design services will be submitted to City for approval in February. Comprehensive Water System Evaluation – Clint Wienen We are wrapping up the Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) and are planning to submit it to the DNR within the next week. Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Plant Design – Clint Wienen Survey of the site and soil borings have been completed. We are starting the preliminary design and will schedule a meeting with City staff once the drawings are approximately 30% complete. Trail Connection between Roundabout and Parking Lot – Andrew Inhelder Project is constructed. Punchlist was created which will be completed in the spring 2024 for final acceptance.
