I-3 - Resolution 2024-021 - Additional Language to Collective Bargaining Agreement - Construction Inspector Certifications

RESOLUTION NO. 2024-021 A RESOLUTION APPROVING A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING FOR ADDITIONAL LANGUAGE TO THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF TIFFIN, IOWA AND THE AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES AS IT PERTAINS TO SPECIAL QUALIFICATION PAY FOR CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR CERTIFICATIONS Whereas, the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa ("City") entered into a contract agreement with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Council 61 ("AFSCME") acting on behalf of the City employees; and, Whereas, AFSCME has requested a language change to the current agreement as it pertains to the special qualifications pay section to add certain amounts for construction inspector certifications; and, Whereas, the City of Tiffin has reviewed and considered the request and the attached change, Now, therefore be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa to approve the Memorandum of Understanding for additional language to the Collective Bargaining Agreement Between the City of Tiffin and American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees as it pertains special qualifications pay for construction inspector certifications and to authorize the Mayor to sign and City Clerk to attest said agreement, which is attached hereto and made a part of this resolution. On the 2nd day of April, 2024, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa, Councilperson ____ introduced RESOLUTION NO. 2024-021, A RESOLUTION APPROVING A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING FOR ADDITIONAL LANGUAGE TO THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF TIFFIN, IOWA AND THE AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES AS IT PERTAINS TO SPECIAL QUALIFICATION PAY FOR CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR CERTIFICATIONS and made a motion for approval. Ayes: Nays: Absent: Whereupon ____ Council members were present and voted approval and Mayor Kasparek declared that the RESOLUTION NO. 2024-021, A RESOLUTION APPROVING A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING FOR ADDITIONAL LANGUAGE TO THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF TIFFIN, IOWA AND THE AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES AS IT PERTAINS TO SPECIAL QUALIFICATION PAY FOR CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR CERTIFICATIONS to be adopted and signified his approval of the same by affixing his signature thereto.
