I-3 - Resolution 2025-009 - 28E Agreement for South Jasper Avenue

RESOLUTION NO. 2025-009 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 28E AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF TIFFIN AND THE CITY OF CORALVILLE REGARDING THE CONSTRUCTION OF SOUTH JASPER AVENUE WHEREAS, the City of Tiffin and the City of Coralville, Iowa, agree that as part of the Forevergreen Road intersection settlement, that Jasper Avenue will also need to be improved; and, WHEREAS, the Cities have agreed to the obligations of the construction, payment and maintenance of the project; and, WHEREAS, the entities desire to set forth the obligations and other responsibilities in an agreement; and, WHEREAS, Chapter 28E of the Code of Iowa provides the authority for public agencies to enter into agreements for their mutual advantage; and, WHEREAS, this Agreement is made and entered into by the City of Tiffin and the City of Coralville, Iowa; and, NOW BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Tiffin, Iowa that the Mayor is hereby authorized to sign and execute the Chapter 28E Agreement for the Construction of Jasper Avenue, which a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Tiffin City Council that said Agreement is hereby approved as to form and content and is found to be in the best interest of the City of Tiffin, Iowa and the City of Coralville; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of Tiffin that the City Clerk is hereby authorized to file a copy of this Resolution and Agreement with the Secretary of State, as required by Chapter 28E, Iowa Code. On the 21st day of January, 2025, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa, Councilperson _____ introduced RESOLUTION NO. 2025-009, A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 28E AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF TIFFIN AND THE CITY OF CORALVILLE REGARDING THE CONSTRUCTION OF SOUTH JASPER AVENUE and made a motion for approval. Motion seconded by Councilperson _____. Ayes: Nays: Absent: Whereupon _____ Council members were present and voted approval and Mayor Kasparek declared that RESOLUTION NO. 2025-009, A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 28E AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF TIFFIN AND THE CITY OF CORALVILLE REGARDING THE CONSTRUCTION OF SOUTH JASPER AVENUE to be adopted and signified his approval of the same by affixing his signature thereto.
