ON-GOING PROJECTS
North Park Road Improvements – James Watters
MSA is reviewing Construction Administration requirements and expects to submit a cost estimate and
contract for these services for the North Park Rd project in 2025.
Currently waiting on construction contract for Boomerang to be approved by Iowa DOT.
Highway 6 Concept and Cost Estimate – James Watters
All utilities have returned a signed acknowledgement of the project. Utility Impact exhibits will be
distributed in Winter 2024/2025 to utilities. The Utility Coordination Meeting is TBD.
MSA/City are awaiting final PreDesign agreement from DOT for project.
MSA revised current D5 (Plans to Right of Way) plan set and estimate and resubmitted to DOT on
11/22/2024. Right of way acquisition will begin in 2025 for the project.
MSA received the concept report from DOT recommending replacement of areas of sidewalk along the
corridor on 11/8/2024. This work has been incorporated into the revised D5 plans sent to DOT on 11/22/24.
Comprehensive Water System Evaluation – Clint Wienen
The PER was approved on December 30, 2024. The Viability Self-Assessment was approved on January 6,
2025. We are still waiting for approval of the Variance Request for the clearwell. The DNR said they were
expecting to have it approved by January 10, 2025. The last correspondence with the DNR was January 21,
2025 which was a response to their comments/questions. We have not received any requests for additional
information so I assume the variance request is in the final stages of approval.
Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Plant Design – Clint Wienen
The plans, specs, and construction schedules were sent to the DNR on August 29, 2024 for approval. The
DNR indicated that they would have their review completed by January 17, 2025. We have not received
any questions/comments to date.
Hwy 6 Trail Routing Options. – Andrew Inhelder
MSA compiled several conceptual options with cost impacts and have sent to City Staff.
